The 1993 Breeders’ Cup Turf was one of the most thrilling races in horse racing history. The race featured an epic battle between two of the greatest horses ever – Arcangues and Kotashaan. In a see-saw battle, Arcangues pulled ahead down the stretch to win by a nose, setting a new track record in the process. This race remains one of the sports’ greatest moments, with fans still talking about it today.
Another classic moment came at the 2000 Kentucky Derby, when Charismatic won despite suffering a leg injury during the race. Charismatic was trailing badly at one point but managed to surge ahead at just the right time to win by a length and three quarters. It was an incredible performance from an injured horse and will never be forgotten by those who witnessed it firsthand.
In 2005, Afleet Alex provided another incredible moment when he won Preakness Stakes despite nearly colliding with another horse mid-race. With jockey Jeremy Rose pulling off an amazing recovery move, Afleet Alex surged ahead late to win by four and a half lengths and cement his place amongst horse racing’s greatest champions.
The 2010 Grand National saw Don’t Push It become only the second horse in history to win after being pulled up during a previous year’s running of this famous steeplechase event. After being pulled up in 2009 due to exhaustion, Don’t Push It made an incredible comeback and became only the second horse ever to complete this remarkable feat – making it one of horse racing’s most memorable moments ever!
